Filmmakers Development Program

The Filmmakers’ Development program aims at helping creative talents and emerging filmmakers develop their understanding of the art and practice of filmmaking. The workshops held at the Royal Film Commission (RFC), create learning environments for young filmmakers and encourage them to tell their stories using film as a creative tool. The workshops tackle various filmmaking disciplines, both at the theoretical and practical levels.

Moreover, the program presents various levels of training for beginners and semi-professionals. The RFC also lends filming equipment, as well as provides internships and networking opportunities with other filmmakers, participation in festivals, guidance and contacts with production companies.

Since the RFC’s establishment in 2003, more than 43 filmmaking workshops have been organized in various disciplines. More than four hundred budding filmmakers have benefited from them. Today, the majority of those are working in the film industry; either by making short films, writing their first feature screenplay or working with international productions, film institutes, TV and production companies. Many of them have also pursued their postgraduate studies in cinematic arts abroad.
