Film in School

The Film in School program is designed to help students and teachers broaden their knowledge about the history of cinema, and to develop their abilities in analyzing and discussing films from the technical, artistic and content perspectives. The program promotes film culture among students and links cinema to other artistic and academic disciplines.

One of the objectives of the Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC) is to raise awareness about cinema among the local community and highlight the importance of film culture at early childhood stages.

The Film in School program aims to:

  • Promote film culture by establishing film clubs in schools, more importantly in the governorates throughout the Kingdom. The clubs are provided with a selection of local, international and Arab films.
  • Train teachers who will manage the film clubs, and encourage the participation of students in extracurricular activities.
  • Schedule screenings, followed by discussions, for students and the local community.
