In the presence of the director Mahmoud Al Massad
a construction worker, gets tangled in an unfortunate business laptop deal
leading him to prison for fraud. Frightened for his family and worried about
an ambiguous future among fraudsters, he spends his days in prison waiting
for an appropriate outcome.
However, Ahmad’s straightforwardness, sense of humor and sharp mind help him
make friends and find tranquility in the daily rhythm of prison life. Far
from all the obligations of the outside world, where food and drink are not a
worry and where no cell phones keep ringing, Ahmad gradually feels something
that he's never experienced before: liberty. He realizes that life in prison
could be better or easier than the one he has outside.
The film has recently participated in the Muhr Feature Competition at the
13th Dubai International Film Festival and was officially selected at Toronto
International Film Festival. It has won the Best Asian Film Award and the
Special Jury Award for Best Actor at Warsaw International Film Festival.
“Blessed Benefit” had received a production fund from the Jordan Film Fund.
