The Royal Film Commission – Jordan invites you to attend the screening of a collection of short films produced at the Digital Filmmaking Workshop (2016 and 2017) in the presence of the DFM workshops' participants, Wednesday 26th of September 2018 at 8 PM at the Royal Film Commission (Jabal Amman) 

Porridge of the Past 

Directed by Nivin Abu Rekbeh, Produced by Yasmeen Ishneiwer, 14 min, Short Fiction, Arabic with English subtitles, 2017


Supervised by the DFM workshop’s instructor: Director Mohammad Al-Daradji

The story of a 70-year-old refugee who came to Jordan after the Palestinian Nakba in 1948. Wearing an old-fashioned suit, he is used to visiting a cemetery while carrying a newspaper in his hand and an old cloth with a little girl’s shoe inside it. What is the secret behind this old man, and what do the newspaper and the shoe have to do with it?
