The Royal Film Commission – Jordan and Eurasian Dialogue Join Forces in the Audio-visual Sector

Amman, 7 October 2021

The Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC) and Eurasian Dialogue signed today a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in the field of audio-visual productions in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Russia. Eurasian Dialogue is Krasnodar’s regional public organization to promote development of international cooperation with the people of Eurasian space.

The MoU was signed for one year at the Commission’s premises, in Amman, by the RFC’s Managing Director, Mohannad Al Bakri, and the Head of Eurasian Dialogue, Tamrazov Yuri Fedorovich.

The two parties aim to cooperate in the cultural and economic fields related to the audio-visual sector, organize networking events for film professionals in the two countries and promote intercultural dialogue between the Jordanian and Russian film communities.

Commenting on this new cooperation, Mohannad Al Bakri said: “The RFC continuously seeks to forge first-hand international cooperation ties in the audio-visual sector. With Russia being one of the largest film markets in the world, we believe that such a cooperation will further promote Jordan as a filming location. Along with Eurasian Dialogue, we will join hands in hosting Russian and East European producers to explore the Kingdom for filming opportunities, showcase some of their well-known productions as well as work towards creating specialized training programs to target the local film industry.”

On the other hand, Tamrazov Yuri Fedorovich said: “Thanks to the wise policy of HM King Abdullah II and the Russian President Vladimir Putin, sincere and friendly relations have developed between our states. We, as representatives of the Russian society, only want to contribute to the development of this good tradition, to show the best of the Jordanians to the Russians and vice versa, and contribute to the well-being of both nations by virtue of our capabilities.”
