Life Jacket

Faten Al Faraj, 70 minutes, in Arabic and English with English subtitles, 2020

A documentary that takes us on a journey through the most traumatic times in the lives of the refugees on the Greek Island of Lesbos. From surviving the war to the crossing of the Aegean Sea, they trust a simple life jacket to keep them safe and hope to reach a safer future. Little they know that they will end up in Moria Camp and live a different kind of ongoing trauma.

“Life Jacket” has won Best Documentary Award at the Canadian Faith and Family Film Festival. It was nominated for Best Director and Most Creative Documentary at International Christian Film & Music Festival. The film was screened at Great Lakes Film Festival and Indo American International Festival of World Cinema.
