The House of the Lost on the Cape

17-year-old run-away Yuiand and 8-year-old Hiyori, who lost her family and her voice, have no place to go until they run into Kiwa, a strange old lady. She offers them a place to stay, in a slightly banged-up old house overlooking the sea, a Mayoiga.

Despite joining Kiwaon a whim, the two girls find comfort in the Mayoiga, a legendary house said to look after lost travelers, and the warm hospitality of Kiwa. Both girls’ damaged hearts begin to heal little by little as time passes. Until one day, a variety of strange beings which Kiwa calls “Fushigitto” begin popping up around the house...

It's a story about nostalgia, precious kinship, and a touch of magic.

The film has been nominated for Best Feature at Annecy International Animated Film Festival.

Barefoot is a high-school girl who adores samurai movies and Japanese costume drama. But she doesn't stand a chance of making a samurai movie at school, as all the film club members prefer romantic dramas. One day Barefoot meets Rintaro, who is an ideal actor for the lead samurai role in a movie she wrote. And so Barefoot and her two best friends, persuade Rintaro to star in the movie, and they gather a unique cast and crew. However, during production, Barefoot finds out that Rintaro is a time-traveler from the future!

The movie has been nominated for the Audience Award and the Jury Award at Nippon Connection Japanese
Film Festival.

Momoko is 75 years old and lives alone. In 1964, spurred on by the fanfare of the Olympic Games that blared across the country, Momoko ran away from her hometown and moved to Tokyo. She got married and raised children and was looking forward to some peace and quiet with her husband. He suddenly passed away, leaving her alone and lonely. Momoko is dumbfounded by being alone again. She now spends her days borrowing books from the public library. This changes her life!

This is a story about an ordinary yet extraordinary year in Momoko’s life in which she discovers a new world beyond loneliness.

The film has been nominated for the Asian Film Awards for Best Visual Effects and the Golden Film Award for Best Performance for an Actress in a Leading Role and Best Performance for an Actress in a Supporting Role at Faro Island Film Festival.

With everyone scratching and clawing their way to the top of the hill, Naoko just wants to lead an ordinary working girl. But can she do that? The movie has won Best Asian Film at Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, New Flesh Award for Best First Feature Special Mention at Fantasia Film Festival and Best Actress at Hochi Film Awards.
