The Royal Film Commission - Jordan established seven Film Centers
to provide beginners and professional filmmakers with learning and training
opportunities to enhance their skills to improve the level of filmmaking in the
Middle East.
Such opportunities encourage creativity, freedom of
expression and enable filmmakers to tell their stories and thoughts through a
universal cinematic language. This has been achieved throughout the years by
conducting workshops, seminars, panels, and master classes in the art of filmmaking
including the question of intellectual property. In addition, the Centers organised production
competitions and local workshops that tackle skills and knowledge needed in the
arts of filmmaking.
The Film Centers serve several objectives:
- Promoting filmmaking as a
tool for expression and as a viable growing industry.
- Encouraging and supporting
Jordanians to tell their stories artistically through audio-visual means.
- Building the capacities of
young Jordanians by providing training on filmmaking and multimedia tools in
order to express themselves.
- Spreading film culture and
increasing public interest in the art of filmmaking.
- Enabling individuals to
gain a better understanding of the media and its tools.
- Offering career guidance in
the filmmaking industry.
